Is GPT-4 A New Milestone Or A Security Threat?
GPT-4

Based on the recent buzz, it is obvious that artificial intelligence is not the future, it is present. Gpt-4 is considered an advanced technology that will lead us to the next level or can even create a serious threat. GPT-4 is the latest version of ChatGPT-3. As a large multimodal, it can generate both text and image content.

This new AI model by OpenAI was officially announced on 14th March and it is confirmed by Microsoft that it is already in use for ‘Bing’ before its official release. As GPT-4 is a large language model, it can identify the details seen in an image and analyze them which its predecessor ChatGPT-3 can’t.

Open AI says,

“We spent 6 months making GPT-4 safer and more aligned. GPT-4 is 82% less likely to respond to requests for disallowed content and 40% more likely to produce factual responses than GPT-3.5 on our internal evaluations.”

GPT4 vs GPT 3

Compared with ChatGPT 3, GPT-4 is considered more reliable and creative. GPT-4 has scored 40% higher than ChatGPT-3.5 in terms of performance. The main difference is it allows images, which its predecessor won’t. As a next-generation language model, visual inputs, creativity, and longer context are its key factors. As a result, it can generate 25000 words for the users. The fun fact is, GPT-4 has surprised the audience with its US bar exam, the Graduate Record Examination, and by creating a brand-new app.

Threat or boon

By creating a tempest in the tech world, OpenAI’s GPT-4 is most likely to replace human jobs. When jobs like tutoring, translating, copywriting, appointment scheduling, etc. are easily done with the help of artificial intelligence, obviously people look for an easier option. And with the introduction of GPT-4, workers like a proofreader, data entry clerks, travel agents, and recruiters are much more likely to lose their job in near future. Of course, AI cannot override humans, yet it will encourage unemployment. The Tech world sees this GPT 4 as a boon, whereas it is also a threat to employment opportunities.

Alert from Cyber Security

GPT-4 is a milestone in artificial intelligence, we can never deny this fact. But according to cyber experts, have warned about the dangerous risk alerts for this new language model. The recent research held by the Israel cyber security firm, Check Point Research, says

“GPT-4 poses the risk of being manipulated by cyber criminals to generate malicious code. These abilities include writing code for malware that can collect confidential portable document files (PDFs) and transfer them to remote servers through a hidden file transfer system, using the programming language, C++”

Cyber security expert Oded Vanunu believes that Gpt-4 has the power to “accelerate cybercrime” and “empower bad actors”. Because the non-technical one who has a different motif can misuse the technology for the rapid execution of cybercrime.

GPT-4 is of course a boon, but that is only when it is used in the right measure. AI has made people’s jobs easy. Currently, the subscribed users of Chat GPT (ChatGPT Plus) are allowed to access GPT-4. Still, there is a way to access GPT-4 and that is by using Bing Chat. Use the world’s powerful AI for smart work, but never be too dependent.
